Research Assistant (Forest Ecology)

The Asian School of the Environment is currently looking for a candidate to join as a Research Assistant (RA).

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct tree censuses in nature reserves of Singapore
  • Engage in field work and understudy field leader
  • Lead and assist in training of field volunteers as required
  • Adapt field protocols as required
  • Enter and clean data collected from the field
  • Provide feedback to field leader and project PIs
  • Adhere to NParks regulations when collecting data in nature reserves


Job Requirements

  • A Diploma in Biology, Ecology or Horticulture/Landscaping
  • Have good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computing and computational skills helpful
  • Prior field experience helpful
  • Enjoyment of outdoors a must
  • Willing to learn new field and analytical techniques
  • Safety training helpful
  • Past experience in team based projects/work an asset
