Edgardo Latrubesse installed as Full Professor
In a ceremony earlier this week, NTU and President Subra Suresh honored staff who have been appointed professors during the past year (by direct appointment or promotion). This included new ASE recruitment Professor Edgardo Latrubesse, who joined the ASE in August. Professor Latrubesse’s area of expertise is geomorphology and hydrology of large tropical rivers. His research spans the globe and he has worked on many of the largest rivers in the world, from South America where he worked on the Amazon and other major rivers, via the USA and the Mississippi River, the Congo river in Africa and his research has also taken him to the Yangtze River, the Mekong River and the Ganges River in Asia. He is now setting up a research program on tropical rivers of Southeast Asia. Professor Latrubesse is interested in how human activates impact of rivers and river plains, and much of his work is multidisciplinary environmental research concerning global change. We are happy to welcome Professor Latrubesse as a Full Professor of the Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Asian School of the Environment.
