Research Assistant (Disaster Analytics for Society)

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) invite applications for the position of Research Assistant.

The Research Assistant will join a dynamic, expanding research group that investigates the complex impact that natural hazards have on society (http://resilience-science.org/). In particular, the Research Assistant will contribute to the management, analysis and communications on an NRF-funded project to develop an AI and Remote Sensing lab for disaster risk analysis.

Research Fellow (Volcanic Hazard Assessment)

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invite applications for a post-doctoral Research Fellow (RF) to work on an NRF-funded project to evaluate and better quantify the potential for volcanic eruption and associated hazards at Changbaishan volcano, on the border of the People’s Republic of China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, North Korea).

The main tasks that the RF will lead are:

Research Fellow (Quaternary Geology)

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) and Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) is seeking a self-driven, highly-motivated and collaborative Research Fellow (post-doctoral degree) to join Prof. Latrubesse’s research group to investigate Quaternary Geology with focus on the morpho-stratigraphic record of fluvial systems in Southeast Asia. In particular, the selected Research Fellow will develop and lead researches in Quaternary sedimentology, geomorphology stratigraphy and paleoeography in Southeast Asia.

Research Assistant (Forest Ecology)

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) is currently looking to appoint a Research Assistant (RA) to work within NTU’s Forest ecology lab. The work involves running analytical (chemical) and biological measurements of field-collected plant and soil samples, purchasing and procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies, data management, and some participation in field work to collect plant and soil samples in forests. Moreover, the RA will contribute to the overall practical management of the laboratory (health & safety, ordering consumables, etc.).

Research Assistant (Environmental Microbiology)

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 12th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world’s best young universities. The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.
We seek to employ a Research Assistant to participate in the analysis, enumeration and isolation of viruses from Singapore coastal waters.

The RA will also be involved in field sampling, procurement and sequencing data analysis.

Research Fellow (Community-based Restoration Ecology in Tropical Peatlands)

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 12th globally. It is also placed 1st among the world’s best young universities. The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow (Post-doc) for two years who will work across both Asst. Prof. Janice Lee’s and Prof. David Wardle’s research group.
